Can my memory stick get affected by a virus infected computer?

I recently put my memory stick into the input on one of my old computers. I was planning on writing some stuff up for homework on it, since my new computer was under repairs. However, I totally forgot that the computer had a virus. So my question is; is my memory stick now going to be infected by the virus my computer has? I simply inserted the stick, I never actually put anything on it, or took anything off. See the Entire Story
